The DME Company (Madison Heights, Michigan) is the world wide leader in modular die cast tooling. They build a full line of quick change tooling for the die casting industry. In their model line-up the designation DC is for die cast (vs. plastic); standard sizes (measured in inches) from DME include the 810 (8 x 10); 1012 (10 x 12); 1215 (12 x 15) and 1518 (15 x 18). Each of these standard sizes are available for use in either hot chamber i.e. DC-1215-Z or cold chamber applications i.e. DC-1215-A. Both the "A" series and the "Z" series are available in Standard Duty DC-1215-A and Heavy Duty configurations DC- 1215- A-HD. Lastly any of the above configurations are available as a single unit holder DCS-1215-A-HD (note the "S" after the "DC") or as double master unit holder DC-1215-A-HD (note double is assumed and is signified by the lack of the "S" after the "DC". DME unit die inserts can be changed in a matter of minutes allowing for quick changes from one part to the next. Additionally, the DME double unit die holders can run completely different parts at the same time because of they hold two different cavity inserts.
